The definition of a doula from the DONA International website is, “The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.”

Speaking from experience a doula is so much more! That is why when the Cincinnati Area Doula Society approached me about redesigning their logo, I jumped at the opportunity. The love and passion that I experienced from my doulas was everything I wanted to give back to them in the form of my creative services. I wanted the logo to express the care and emotion these women (and men) from CADS give to pregnant women and new mothers. They give so freely of themselves and I wanted to do the same for them.
